Also you can check the weather before you go and avoid this situation. Its an easy enough drive to make your own way there. We paid for a service that we didn't receive. They kept saying they operate in all weather conditions when clearly they dont. We got a maximum of 2 hours which consisted of not seeing anything for an hour, when it started to clear we could see a little bit however we was rushed to the helicopter office for a non existent ride which wasted 30 minutes getting back, speaking to the helicopter office and then shuttle back to point 3.īest thing about the tour was the sandwich, which turned out to be a very expensive sandwich as we didn't receive a refund! Customer service is awful. Grand Canyon Destinations website says we should have got 4 hours in the Grand Canyon. But by this point we had 20 minutes left before we had to go and get the shuttle to go back to the coach. By this point the fog was starting to clear (if we had go to hoover dam first this would have been fine). So we get back on the shuttle and go to point 3. We did, we got there to be told the tour guide had lied to us and the helicopters were not running as the crew had gone home.

Less than 5 minutes on the skywalk, the tour guide pulled us off and said the helicopters were now running and to rush back to the helicopter office. We had skywalk tickets so went on, but couldn't see anything anyway and also had to walk on a carpet because the glass was icy. We get to point 2 but cant see a thing.

(So much for operating in all weather conditions). Its either sit on the bus or go in, so we go for a walk, get in the shuttle bus, to skip past point 1 (the ranch) of the grand canyon because it is closed because of the weather. Before he rang the office he told us we could, came back from the call with the office to say no, if we want to come back we pay again. So we arrive at Grand Canyon, but wasted an hour outside the entrance for the tour guide to find out the helicopter tours and boat tours were cancelled and then ringing back and forth with the office to see if we could rearrange and come back another day as there was 0% visibility.

If we had gone to the hoover dam first as the itinerary suggested, the fog would have cleared allowing us to enjoy our tour. On the bus to hoover dam, the tour guide informed us we would be skipping hoover dam to get the most out of the Grand canyon. Received confirmation night before however have since been informed that we should have been emailed the night before to advise us that there was 0% visibility in the Grand canyon and offered an alternative day.
